In her seminar, "Training the Mind toward Awakening in Meditation and Daily Life,"Lama Depa will present the Seven Points of Mind Training, a key set of teachings in Tibetan Buddhism for progressing toward awakening by developing love, compassion and wisdom. The Seven Points of Mind Training, which originated with the Indian teacher Atisha in the 11th century, include tong len (taking and sending meditation) and a set of 59 practical slogans for transforming the experiences of daily life directly into the path of awakening. All are welcome at all events. The seminar will include instruction, meditation practice, and opportunities for questions and discussion. Lama Depa's full teaching schedule is as follows:
Attending all three seminar sessions November 4-5 is recommended but not required. Any session may be attended independently. The suggested donation for the seminar is $10 per session, or $25 for all three sessions. Donations are used to defray expenses and make an offering to the teacher.
