"Getting Started on the Path to Awakening: The Preliminary Practices of Tibetan Buddhism"

Palmo Baker in Portsmouth NH

august 27-29, 2004

Palmo Baker is an experienced teacher and translator in the Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. A longtime student of Lama Norlha Rinpoche, she completed two three-year Kagyu seminary retreats under his guidance at Kagyu Thubten Choling Monastery in New York, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in religion at Harvard.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer this seminar for experienced practitioners, beginners, and those just interested in finding out about the Tibetan Buddhist path to awakening. All are welcome, though some sessions (as indicated below) are recommended for students already engaged in the preliminary practices, or seriously interested in beginning them. The Friday evening session is a public lecture and is free of charge. Other sessions will include both teaching and practice, and have a suggested donation of $10 ($8 for members of KSC and KDSC) to help defray expenses.

Most sessions will be at the West End Studio Theater, 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth.
